Bone loss can be a significant problem for women, especially after menopause, due to a decrease in estrogen levels. But you can prevent thinning bones and keep your body strong. A simple DEXA bone density scan can show whether treatment—typically medication, diet, and/or physical therapy—is called for. Learn more about whether you should consider a scan.

This program allows women who meet age, income, and insurance guidelines the opportunity to have a Pap test and pelvic exam, and a mammogram screening. It’s sponsored by the Indiana State Department of Health and is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with additional support from Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation, for women who, due to budget restrictions, might not otherwise have these important tests.
